IMAGING FOR IMPLANTOLOGY - by Dr. Tom Huang (Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist - Envision)
There is an array of imaging modalities which can be used to determine the adequacy of an implant site or sites. The advantages and disadvantages of the different imaging modalities will be presented with a special emphasis on three-dimensional modalities including cone beam computed tomography and multidetector computed tomography. The decision making process for selecting the different modalities as well as technical aspects which impact on image quality will also be discussed.
