Lecture Summary:
One of the major challenges faced by individuals with special needs is limited access to oral health care. This population often experiences higher rates of dental decay and poor gingival health, compounded by medical, social, and behavioral complexities. These factors can significantly hinder timely and adequate oral health care. However, silver fluoride offers a promising solution that could revolutionize this landscape. Despite its potential, the use of silver fluoride remains underutilized in general dentistry due to limited research and varied clinical protocols.
In this presentation, Dr. Lydia See, a specialist in Specail Needs Dentistry, will provide an overview of silver fluoride, highlighting its applications through clinical case scenarios. She will share her journey in special needs dentistry and her experiences with silver fluoride, aiming to demystify its use and demonstrate its potential in improving oral health care for special needs populations. Join Dr. See as she unravels the potential of silver fluoride, turning the complicated into the uncomplicated.
